Keep the Beat, a not-for-profit event, began in 2003 with a group of community-minded businesses and organizations from Louisiana seeking to make a difference in their hometown.

Louisiana’s heart disease rate is 10% higher than the national average, greatly increasing the incidence of sudden cardiac arrest. However, only one person in 20 knows CPR. Eighty percent of all sudden cardiac arrest happen at home; if you are called to perform CPR, it will most likely be for a family member or friend.
